Yes, you can connect them and please don't worry about it. Thanks!
/// Далее мое письмо:
So it seems that connecting two fans to the one connector on motherboard is safe, isn\'t it?
I\'ve got MSI B450 TOMAHAWK motherboard and
We have the following:
1. Max current for the CPU and system FAN header should be 1.2A-1.8A, as you wrote.
2. Specifications of fans:
Aigo 140mm (12V, 4.2W) - written on the box. I\'ve attached the pic of it.
Fractal Design Silent LL 120mm (Input voltage 12V, Input power 1.44W, Max input current 0.16A, Starting voltage 7V) - written at the official Fractal Design website (
https://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/casefans/silent-series-r3/silent-series-white);3. Moderators from the Russian forum of the official MSI website say that we have to keep in mind STARTING currents, which about two times more than usual currents, to keep the system in health. (if they are wrong, tell me please)
4. Well, based on the above, we have:
Starting current of the one Aigo fan: (4.2w/12v)*2=0,7a
Starting current of the one Fractal Design fan: 1.44w/7v=0.21a (according to FD website) or maximum (1.44w/12v)*2=0.24a (according to moderators)
Conclusions:
1. It\'s safe to connect two Aigo fans to the one motherboard header, because their starting current in total: 0.7a*2=1.4a – which fits in range from 1.2A to 1.8A, that you wrote.
2. It\'s safe to connect one Aigo fan plus one Fractal Design fan to the one motherboard header, because their starting current in total 0.7a+0.24a=0.94a – which doesn\'t even reach the range 1.2A-1.8A.
3. It\'s safe to connect two Fractal Design fans to the one motherboard header, because their starting current in total: 0.24a*2=0.48a – which doesn\'t reach the range 1.2A-1.8A too.
Are my conclusions right?
Sorry for disturbing you with billions words and letters! But it\'s important to keep my motherboard in safe.
Owe you for help!
Best Regards,
Petr Stulikov
